Shardvolt is a website where people play browser games and developers publish them. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we keep as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can play without an account.
- Account details — if you create an account: a username, a password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text) and, if you choose to add one, an email address. The email is only used to reset a forgotten password. It is never shown to other users.
- Play activity — which games you play, for how long, scores you submit, likes, Support Points, streaks and cosmetics you unlock. This is how we pay developers for the time people spend in their games.
- Whether ads were blocked — we detect if an ad blocker is on during a session. You can still play; that session simply doesn't count towards developer payouts or rewards.
- Developer uploads — game files, titles, tags and logos that developers publish. Payments for publishing or boosting are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
- Technical basics — our hosting provider (Railway) keeps standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and reliability.
- A single session cookie keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
- Your browser's local storage remembers things like recently played games. This never leaves your device.
- Advertising cookies. We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Google's own policy is at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- To run the site: sign you in, save your progress, show leaderboards, list games.
- To pay developers fairly, based on verified playtime with ads on.
- To stop abuse — for example, scores or playtime that are clearly faked.
- To send you a password reset email when you ask for one. We don't send marketing email.
We don't sell personal data. We share only what's necessary with the services that run the site: Railway (hosting), Google AdSense (ads), Stripe (payments) and Resend (password reset email). Developers see aggregate playtime and revenue for their own games, never who played them.
Games on Shardvolt are uploaded by independent developers and run inside a sandboxed frame with no access to your account or cookies. They can send us a score, and we tell them whether ads are on — nothing more.
Shardvolt is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Playing doesn't require an account. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
- Play without an account and nothing is tied to you beyond standard server logs.
- Add, change or remove your recovery email at any time from your profile.
- Ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it by emailing us.
