Plain-language rules for using Shardvolt, whether you play games here or publish them. By using the site you agree to these. The privacy policy explains what we do with data.
- Games are free to play. Ads are how the site and the developers get paid; using an ad blocker is allowed, but that playtime doesn't earn anyone anything and doesn't earn you rewards.
- One account per person. Don't share accounts, don't automate play, and don't fake scores or playtime. We remove scores and points that look manufactured, and repeat abuse ends the account.
- Support Points, streaks, badges and cosmetics have no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
- You keep ownership. Uploading gives Shardvolt a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and promote your game on the site for as long as it's listed. You can publish it anywhere else too, and you can take it down whenever you like.
- It has to be yours. Only upload games you made or have the rights to. No ripped games, no stolen assets, no trademarks you don't own. Games reported as stolen are removed and the account can be closed.
- Keep it safe. No malware, no crypto-mining, no tracking of players beyond what the game needs to run, nothing that breaks out of the sandbox, and nothing sexual, hateful or illegal.
- Every upload is reviewed by a person before it can be listed. We can decline or remove a game for any reason, and we'll tell you why.
- Listing a game costs a one-off $5, paid after review. While ads aren't running on the site this fee is waived, and games listed during that period don't earn until ads go live. Boosting a game to the featured row costs $50 and is optional. Fees are non-refundable once the game is listed or boosted.
- Ad revenue attributed to your game is split 40% to you and 60% to Shardvolt. "Attributed" means revenue from ads shown during verified playtime with ads on, as measured by the site, not by the game.
- Earnings are paid out after the ad network pays us, once your balance passes the payout minimum shown on your dashboard, using the payout method offered there. Amounts on the dashboard before the ad network is live are estimates.
- Revenue from playtime we judge to be fraudulent (bots, click farms, self-play) is not paid, and repeated fraud forfeits the balance.
You can delete your games from your dashboard and ask us to delete your account by email. We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we ever shut the site down, developers get at least 30 days' notice and any owed balance above the minimum is paid out.
The site is provided as-is; we work hard to keep it up but can't promise it will always be. We're not liable for lost revenue from downtime, bugs, or ad-network decisions. We may update these terms; meaningful changes get a notice on the site and the date above changes.
