Anyone can publish a game on Shardvolt, so it matters what we let through. This page is the rule we apply, written plainly enough that a player, a developer or a network administrator can all read it in two minutes.
An uploaded game is not live when it is uploaded. It goes into a queue marked pending, a person opens it and plays it, and only then is it approved and listed. A game that is rejected never appears in the catalog. This is not an automated filter that something can slip past — nothing is public until a human has looked at it.
Cartoon conflict is allowed — a tank duel, a light-cycle race, an arena shooter with low-poly figures and no blood. The line is realism and intent, not whether a game has any conflict in it at all.
There is no private messaging, no friend requests, no profile comments and no voice or video anywhere on Shardvolt. Two players have no way to reach each other privately. Where players can post publicly, it is moderated by us and anything can be hidden or removed.
Every game can be played signed out. An account is optional and exists only to keep scores, Shards and cosmetics; an email address is optional on top of that and is used solely to reset a forgotten password. We do not ask a player for their name, their age, their school or their location.
Shardvolt is ad-supported through Google AdSense, under Google's own policies for what may be shown. Ads are separate from game content and are never placed inside a game frame.
Every game page has a report button, and it does not require an account. Reports go straight to the review queue. You can also email support@shardvolt.com — if something is on here that breaks the rules above, tell us and we will take it down.
Network administrators: see Shardvolt for schools for the details you need to evaluate the site.
